Wonder Jungle

What wonderful sights you can discover not far from home. On the other bank of river Lielupe grow strange pine trees, many of them more than 100 years old. They look liquid and frozen in time. By the end of 19th century one man brought seeds from Darmstadt in Germany to Latvia, but the young trees didn’t like it here and grew crippled. They still look exotic and beautiful to my eyes. Spooky jungle of broken ambition.

“…to wander and to wonder as freely as your feet can take you.”

Cik brīnumainas ainavas iespējams atklāt tepat pie mājām. Otrā Lielupes krastā aug dīvainas priedes, daļa pat vairāk nekā 100 gadu vecas. To stumbri šķiet plūstoši un sastinguši laikā. 19. gadsimta beigās kāds kungs atveda sēklas no Darmštates Vācijā, bet jaunaudzei šeit neiepatikās, un priedes izauga kroplas. Manās acīs – eksotiskas un skaistas. Neīstenoto ambīciju spoku mežs. Brīnumu džungļi.

“…brīvi klejot un brīnīties, kurp vien kājas var aizvest.”
